Camping at Robin Hood Caravan Park Slingsby | Campsite Review
In May 2022, we went on a 3-night camping trip and stayed at the Robin Hood Caravan Park in Slingsby. This is a Crows Nest Holidays site – we have since been to another Crows Nest Site which I will share more about soon too.
What attracted us to this site was that it’s located very close to the coast. The campsite is on the outskirts of Slingsby, North Yorkshire, and just a 10-minute drive to local market town Malton and less than an hour’s drive to Scarborough. It is also not far from the North York Moors.
Slingsby is the local village and it’s within walking distance and has a pub and takeaway options. The pub is called The Grapes Inn Slingsby and has a nice beer garden. They also offer wood-fired pizza on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings from 5pm. We visited early evening on one of these days and unfortunately they had run out of ingredients to make enough pizza! We opted for a pizza takeaway instead.
The family-run campsite also has a licensed shop, a playground located very close to the field for tents, and a launderette. At the time of visiting, the tent field had its own small toilet and shower block with 2 toilets and 2 showers.
That was plenty for the amount of guests staying while we were there. There were also more toilets and showers available and a washing up area a short walk away. The toilets and showers were basic but we were impressed with how well-kept they were with regular cleaning throughout the day.
In the field there were also recycling and rubbish facilities and access to drinking water. Overall, we’re very happy with this campsite – great location and amenities. A great thing about this site is that you could pick your pitch – we opted for a shadier spot near some trees. There were also picnic tables available for campers to use and a large area where children could run around and play.
As I was gathering some more information about this campsite online, I couldn’t see the option to book it for tents so I am not sure this is something that they’re currently offering. It could be seasonal, perhaps. If they no longer offer camping, this is a shame since it we thought it was a really good campsite.
