When I was a teenager I wore weather-inappropriate shoes a lot of the time. Think canvas Converse All Star trainers (high-tops at least!) in the middle of the Swedish winter with snow and temperatures of minus 15. Those days are gone and the year that I finally started wearing suitable footwear in the Autumn and Winter is the year that I finally felt like a grown-up. These days, I am good at choosing the right kind of footwear for different weather conditions and activities. Whether it’s hiking shoes or wellies that are needed, I’ve got myself covered. In this article, we are going to look at my new wellies from The Warm Welly Company which can handle more than just rain as they are lined to keep feet warm too. The kids’ wellies come in a range of colours to choose from while the options for adults are all a stylish dark green colour. Adults do get a choice of welly styles – choose from Field Wellies, Wider Fit wellies, Heavier Duty wellies, and Short Wellies.
Short wellies are the most recent addition to the range and the ones that I chose too. I simply find that a shorter welly style is more versatile for what I use them for – rainy weather (without puddle jumping), muddy woodland walks, gardening, and the occasional horse ride.
These Gelt Short Neoprene Lined Warm Wellies are handcrafted from natural rubber and have a 4mm neoprene lining for maximum warmth and comfort. They’re really easy to slip on and off which is convenient and they are indeed comfortable to wear and walk in. They also offer good grip which is important in wet weather conditions.
The mid-calf/shorter style of wellies works really well for my needs. These wellies have been great so far this autumn and I can’t wait to wear them on more adventures this season and beyond. They’ll be great for wearing when playing in the snow too! I also love the reflective back loops for increased visibility in the dark.
